Shared Ski & Snowboard Lessons: Share the Cost, Learn Together

Ever wondered how group ski or snowboard lessons can deliver both value and great learning? At Freedom Snowsports, our Shared Lessons are designed to bring people together who want to improve their skills but prefer a small group, but don’t necessarily want fully private session. It’s a flexible, cost-effective, community feel with professional instruction.
Shared Lessons let you share the experience, progress as part of a group, and still receive quality coaching suited to your level.
Here’s everything you need to know about how Shared Lessons work, why they’re great, and how to get booked.
What Are Shared Lessons?
Shared Lessons are similar to group lessons where multiple participants with matching ability levels share the instructor. The number of participants is kept to a maximum of 5 so the quality of the tuition stays high and personalised. So you don’t need to worry about huge groups and thinly spread instruction. Shared lessons work like a ride share, you can either join an existing one where available or start your own.
This format combines professional instruction with a fun, social learning environment—ideal for:
- Solo travelers looking to join a group
- Couples and friends who want to share the experience with others
- Riders who want to be able to split the coaching cost with others
Why Choose Shared Lessons?
✅ Split the cost with others while still enjoying top level expert coaching.
✅ Social — Learn alongside other skiers and snowboarders, share the experience and encouragement.
✅ Tailored Coaching — Groups are matched by ability so you’ll get tailored feedback at your level.
✅ Flexibility — Join existing “blue date” sessions on the calendar or request new ones.
How It Works
Snowboard Skills: How to Ride Switch and Improve Balance, Tricks, and Style

Want to take your snowboarding to the next level? Then it’s time to learn how to ride switch; snowboarding with your opposite foot forward. At first, it feels awkward and unnatural, but once you master it, riding switch transforms your balance, boosts your freestyle progression, and adds style to every run. Whether you’re chasing smoother carves, bigger tricks, or more versatility on the mountain, switch riding is a skill every snowboarder should develop.
In all board sports, we have a natural stance; regular (left foot forward) or goofy (right foot forward). But when you rotate and ride with the other foot leading, you’re in switch stance. Ski & Snowboard Schools like Freedom Snowsports can help guide you through this transition so you can start riding with confidence in either direction.
